How might creating my own Personal Learning Network make a difference in my life and in the lives of others?
If you are a new reader to my blog, Tena Koe and Welcome. You may like to find out more about me first by clicking here . Just remember to come back won’t you:)
So, what is this blog page all about?
This is the main page of my personal learning blog titled, “miplacenictspace”. I created this blog during the summer holidays of 2008-2009 with the intention of learning more about Web 2.0 tools and of course to make a few e-friends along the way. I stumbled across the 31 Day Challenge (while surfing) and am about three quarters of the way through the project. My blog has ‘taken off with a hiss and a bang’ thanks to other 31 ‘Day-ers’ and the Challenge. Have a peek at the work I’ve done:

How can I connect to your Blog?
You can follow my learning journey in a number of ways:
Bookmark it – Many of my readers simply bookmark or set up my blog within their homepage so that every time they log on they see the latest post.
RSS Feed - One of the most popular ways that people follow what goes up on my blog is via a ‘news feed’ or my ‘RSS Feed’. This technology lets you subscribe to my site and be notified of updates on a variety of tools such as Google’s ‘Reader’ tool, iGoogle, MyYahoo and many other news aggregators and feed readers. If you want to use this to subscribe, you’ll need to add this feed.
Social Bookmarking – Readers keep track of the latest posts via a variety of social bookmarking tools. You’ll notice at the bottom of nearly every blog page I have that there’s a little button with the words ‘bookmark’ or ’share’ on it. If you put your cursor over this button a little window opens up that allows you to bookmark the post on one of a variety of ‘bookmarking’ sites. Some of the more popular ones are Digg, Delicious and StumbleUpon.
By bookmarking my posts you have a way of finding them later. You also spread the news about ‘miplacenictspace’ to friends, colleagues and other like-minded people helping me and my blog continue to grow.
I have yet to work on creating a newsletter and have readers subscribe via e-mail . As I am very interested in your comments, please drop me an e-line. Thanks for visiting:)
I love the idea of Readers of the Week so I will now post my terrific two:
Carole - a great 31 Day Challenge e-buddy. She lives in Baranduda in North East Victoria, Australia. Her career began as a secondary school teacher, then as a lecturer and coordinator in TAFE (community colleges), instructional designer, flexible learning manager and finally senior project officer for TAFE frontiers in Melbourne.
In 2005 she began her e-learning consultancy and worked closely with colleagues in TAFEs throughout Victoria and some in other states of Australia. During 2006 she was involved in project work with local community centres and expanded her professional services to project based events for the national bodies of the Australian Flexible Learning Framework. To my most valued readers, kia ora koutou katoa. Thank you so much for always taking the time to stop by.
As I am constantly looking to improve my blog and regard your feedback and feed forward as very, very important, can I now have a few more moments and ask that you complete the multi-choice survey WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT MY BLOG that I have created (using SurveyMonkey ) and please, feel free to leave comments. Note: There is also a link in sidebar 2.
This wee task will help me considerably so thanks heaps my e-buddies!
It has been an interesting journey thus far. I periodically visit my clustermap and feedjit to check the frequency and localities of my readers. I have also enjoyed reading the comments and contributing to discussions.
Knowing what the time differences are across countries helps me. I also instinctively visit the links of those who leave comments and of course provide feedback and/or feed forward.
To my readers, I’d like to thank you all for taking the time to read my blog. What is the true value of a blog without blog buddies?
