How might creating my own Personal Learning Network make a difference in my life and in the lives of others?
Strengths: Networking, breakout sessions, yummy food, catching up with other like-minded people, nice venue and excellent organisation
Weaknesses : Drawn out key notes, long days, limited places to sit down, eat and/or relax, diners had to pay for beer
So What’s: Work to key note time frames, use the Trust Room as a blogger’s cafe etc, substitute red wine for beer
Feed Forward: A fantastic conference. We now plan to work smarter and have as many cluster and ancillary staff from PeaK-ICT as possible attend next year.
BubbleShare: Share photos – Play some Online Games .
AllanahK is such an inspirational presenter because she is down to earth, her sessions are what I would term ‘cruize mode’ and she certainly makes the best of every time and situation. I thoroughly enjoy her wit, wisdom and wonderings….
To find out more about this wonderful educationalist just google “AllanahK” (using speech marks” to narrow the search) grab a cuppa coffee and maybe a chocolate fish or two… and have a great read! Everything you may want to know is also located at http://allanahk.edublogs.org/
Okay, now this is the last session of the day… the eleventh hour must be so hard for presenters. Chrissie seems like a peaceful personality and so I imagine she will impart her knowledge and our time together will be fun.
Voicethread – reflection/review conference report back
Can be downloaded as a Quicktime movie
Can embed into wiki and be ‘added’ to
Think of using Voicethread to do things like Meetings
Check embed into School Zone
Inspire + listen and reflect + collaborate and trust
NB: Love the little laminated tags Chrissie gave out as quick reference to Voicethread
Okay…so now the day is over and it is time to head back to KingsGate for a nanny nap, maybe a spa and to refresh for the conference dinner…
Looking foward to…good food, drink, entertainment and great company – what more could we want:)
The second to last session for today and I had to catch up a bus to Rydges. There I met up with Robyn – we spent time catching up on school and staff days together…. She commented on my paua watch and briefed me on a book she’d been reading about looking at the 3 most interesting parts of your body and accentuating them with personalised jewellery. I guess my wrists ‘do me well’ so she noticed them.
Need to define the words teacher and learning leader
Question: Where do I see myself as a learning leader?
Should I term the children I teach, students or learners?
Check selfdirectedlearning.com
